उत्तर प्रदेश के नोएडा में रमेश गैरा ने केसर की खेती करने की शुरुआत की. रमेश ने यह खेती दक्षिण कोरिया में सीखी. उनका कहना है भारत में कहीं भी केसर की खेती की जा सकती है बस कश्मीर जैसा आर्टिफिशियल वातावरण तैयार करने की जरूरत है. रमेश ने 10 बाई 10 के कमरे में उगाया है केसर और एक किलो केसर की कीमत उन्हें साढ़े तीन लाख रूपए मिली है. भारतीय केसर की यूरोप, अमेरिका और अरब में भारी मांग है.
